To Our Dear Devotees and Friends

Thanks to the steady and very generous support of our devotees, the Thousand Buddha Temple has been thriving both spiritually and institutionally. A consequence of the happy growth in our numbers, however, has been that the size of our temple and its parking space has become insufficient to accommodate all our needs, especially on the occasion of big festivals. To cope with this, we have been very fortunate in being able to purchase a 6,000 square feet residential plot with a small house directly across the street from the temple, which we wish to turn into a Buddhist youth cultural and education center, and to provide 18 more parking spaces.

To enable this, we must renovate and extend the house very extensively so that it can be used legally for its new purposes, and pave the parking area. This is a major undertaking, with the cost of this work estimated at $300,000.00. Therefore we are appealing to you for your assistance in accomplishing this exciting and challenging project through whatever monetary donation you can contribute.

The world continues to suffer from crime, wars and natural disasters. We believe that Buddhist teaching is essential in helping to ameliorate the human and social condition, as well as improving our relationship with the natural environment. We must entrust responsibility for this in particular to the younger generations, who can fulfill our hopes for the future if we pay more attention to their moral education and spiritual cultivation. Our new project is aiming to do precisely that. To assist in this, again may we invite you sincerely to give your support to our project with your donation.

Public work is accomplished by the people. Its accomplishment benefits others and oneself. May all come together as one mind, one heart, to spread and sow the seeds of good deeds. One who delights in giving will attain comfort and joy.

Thank you very much.
Sincerely
